+ Add parent-page__{id} class

Building the perfect theming system is a constant work in progress. We’re always keeping tabs on how people build Super themes, what they want, and how we can make things easier. We’ve added a powerful new class today that gives theme builders control over the styles of a page’s children. We can wait to see what you create with this new feature!

+ Improve cache system for faster updates

+ Updates from Notion appear live on sites 3x faster

A common pain point in Super has been update times for sites in production. While do have a preview within the dashboard for site development which is always up to date with Notion many customers want to see fast updates in production while developing. The Super platform relies on an advanced caching system to keep sites fast and cheap. Technologies always have tradeoffs and we made a decision that fast, cheap, and scalable sites are more important for the overall platform than instant updates which can be slow and expensive. Today we’ve made some progress in reducing that tradeoff. Site updates are now about 3x faster.

+ Library of site components built in Notion

+ Set of themes for Super sites

+ Snippets for enhanced functionality

Super Builder

Today we've launched a new product! The Super page builder is a library of website building blocks and a simple drag & drop interface for creating web pages completely in Notion. Since the builder lives 100% in Notion it's independent of Super hosted but when used on a site hosted with us your page can be enhanced through some designer themes and extra functionality. Check it out here → https://super.so/builder

You can now hyperlink images on your Super site by adding a full URL to any Notion image caption. The caption will be hidden on your site, and clicking the image will open the URL. See how it works here: https://super.so/docs/additional-features

+ Per-page code & SEO settings

+ Password-protected pages

+ Automatic pretty URLs

+ Redesigned Dashboard

Super 2.0 ⚡️🎉

We've listened to your feedback over the last few months and created the top requested features! Our new dashboard has been fully redesigned and build from the ground up to support the grand vision for Super in years to come.

Live site previews & live code editor

Previously adding custom code to a site was not the greatest experience. Adding code refreshing adding more and refreshing was usually the way you'd do it. Not anymore! Super now comes with a live code editor so you can preview your edits as you type them! When you're ready click save and they're live.

Automatic pretty URLs

Another pain point in Super is adding pretty URLs for all your site's pages. While manually adding them is still an option "Sync URLs" can be turned on you have Super create them for you out of page titles. This feature also nests them based on how your site is set up.

Redesigned Dashboard + Full support for mobile

The Super dashboard has been redesigned and rebuilt to give an enjoyable editing experience and a format to support any new features down the line. The dashboard is also optimized for mobile so you can make any changes directly from your phone.

Password Protected Pages

This has been one of the most highly requested features since launching Super. Pages can now have a simple password put in place without the need for any third-party tools.

+ Database page properties

+ Database description

+ Support Galleries with only cover or no title

+ Bug fixes

Site Search

The long awaited feature is finally here! Visitors of your site can perform a site wide search for pages from the nav bar. Search is disabled by default and can be turned on in the dashboard.

Page Properties

Database properties can now be displayed on pages. This is an opt-in feature and needs to be enabled from the dashboard. You can customize which properties are shown on the page by clicking "Customize page" in the three dots menu on a database page.

+ New Website

+ Navigation breadcrumbs are now supported on Static sites

+ Improved hyperlinks (external links will now open in a new tab)

+ Improved support for embed blocks (Miro, Github, Abstract, Whimsical)

+ Improved SEO (search engines no longer index old pages on your site)

+ Image improvements (better compression, and support for HEIC)

New Website

We've rebuilt our website entirely in Notion & Super, so our demo site is now simply our default site. There's still lots to do, but we're really excited to share it with you. Creating content has never been easier, so expect some Super constant updates.

Templates

We're stoked to release our first batch of Super + Notion templates. We started with a podcast template, a hero template, a link template, and a personal site template, but we've got a ton more in the works, and the majority will be completely free.

Showcase

While we work on full-on customer case studies, we put a little more emphasis onto some of our favorite sites created with Super. From portfolios, to career pages, to digital products stores, our showcase is a great source of inspiration.

+ Breadcrumbs

+ Link Fixes

+ Improvements

Breadcrumbs

Static sites now support the breadcrumb feature in your navigation bar. This is a huge improvement for navigating sites that have nested pages within pages of content.

Links

Previously, all text links in Notion would open in a new tab. Now, all Internal links will open in the same tab, and all external links will open in a new one.

Improvements

We've also made some general UX and SEO improvements to all Super sites. Google will no longer index old pages that no longer exist on your domain.

If you didn't have anything in the snippet injection box in your Super site settings, we updated your site automatically. If you do, we kept this a manual update, which you should see on your site once you visit your Super dashboard. Keep in mind, although we always try to minimize any bugs, this update can possibly break some of your styles if you have custom CSS.
